at 6 in the afternoon
on thoughts drifting
failing on worldly demeanor
we count letters by the dozen
as we weave magic
on tips of sharpened pens
looking for words among visions
of surreal

i silently contemplate
on the days end
leaving surreal footprints
on concrete streets.
